Celebrate the Day
Christmas is upon us. I love it, I love it all. I love that it brings family and friends together. I love that it involves lots of baking and lots of eating. I love that it involves a heart of giving. I love that it involves Christmas lights and candles, decorations and trees. I love that it involves eggnog and peppermint. I love that it is a day to celebrate. I love that while much of the states just take Christmas as a day for Santa and getting everything on your wish list, I have something to truly celebrate. That the day that I celebrate and love has tremendous meaning. That this is where it all begins. This, this is the celebration of the birth of my Savior. I also love that every year Jesus speaks something different to my heart during this season each year. Some years come and I can't help but think of Mary's perspective and her faithfulness, other years I have thought about the importance of obedience and faith.
This year, I've been thinking about this one question: " How young do you think Jesus was when he knew He would be the Savior of the world?" When did He know? When do you think He realized that He would bear the weight of the world on His shoulders? How young was He when He took that knowledge upon Himself? This is crazy. When He was younger than you, He could have likely known that He was going to be your hope, your life, your freedom, your salvation, your grace, love.
This, this, is an incredible gift. This is love. This is truth. This is an incredible celebration.
I have come across a new favorite Christmas song. Relient K did me good this time and they've been on repeat a whole lot. Here's some of the lyrics:
I love that. He was born to die, so that I could one day pray for Him to save my life. He came to do just that. And he changed this world forever. And I am grateful and humbled by that. He died so that I could live, but He lived so that He could die. With great joy, I will celebrate that day. It is a Merry Christmas!

And the first time
That You opened Your eyes did You realize that You would be my Savior
And the first breath that left Your lips
Did You know that it would change this world forever...
And I, I celebrate the day
That You were born to die
So I could one day pray for You to save my life
