It's Time
"Swag makes me gag." This is a quote that came up in a recent conversation. Even though it's a funny comment, it's serious business. Seriously guys, it's about to get real. So stick with me for a bit. It's time you became men. No, it's time you became gentlemen. It doesn't really matter how cool you dress, walk, or talk. But what really matters is that you strive for honor and respect- be worthy of it. Yeah, you open that door, and you 'oughta offer that coat. Stand up for what's right, and would you please give others a reason to restore their faith in huMANity? Nowadays so many begin to expect so much less, because honestly there's a whole lot of fakers and jerks out there. There's so many of us pulling for you, women folk and other wise. Do you know what would happen if a generation of spectacular men stepped up? I'm talking about all of you. I don't care if you have big plans or little plans with your life. All we need is for it to start with brothers, boyfriends, sons, husbands, fathers, leaders, etc., etc. What happens if the minority became the majority? What happens if the abnormal became normal? I don't want to hear the phrase, "That's so unusual these days..." Because you could make it the usual. Let it start with you.
I may have stepped on a few toes, but I care about ya'll, but really, I care about your sisters, your daughters, your wives, your girlfriends. You are the ones they will look to. In many ways, you get to shape who they will be. I'm so grateful I have amazing brothers, father, and friends that encourage, protect, help, are great examples, strive to be godly men, are strong, are wise, are mature, and want to be all that they were made to be. Thank you! I'm SO extremely blessed that what I get to see in my everyday life through conversations and actions displayed by you men, young and old, is not always what society as a whole gets to see. I am so grateful to you. I'd give each and every one of you a punch on the shoulder, maybe even a side hug if you were lucky.
Truthfully, gratefully, lovingly, hannaH
