ALL. What does it mean?
ALL. It's a word we don't think much about, but it's such a huge word. How do you begin to describe a word that completely envelops, wholly, entirely, is...everything? One's whole interest, energy, or property.
Mark 13:44 tells of a man who found a treasure of such great value that he was filled with joy over it, and he went and sold all that he had to gain it. God, and the salvation He brings, is so worth it. Are we willing to give it all? What should we give? Again, in Mark 12:30 it says "And you shall love the Lord your god with all your heart, all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength." We need to be loving God with more than just a touchy feely kind of love, but with all of who we are- our hearts, soul, mind, strength- thoughts, actions, our identity, and physically serving. It's a completeness, and THAT'S what God deserves! If we can live that way, ready, and willing for all that God has planned, why don't we?? I can tell you, there would be nothing better.
All is also a very interesting word, well, because...it means all. You give all..or nothing. Holding nothing back. Hold back even a small portion, and it's not all. And, that, that is going to require faith. "And having faith often means doing what others see as crazy. "Something is wrong when our lives make sense to unbelievers." Could we reply to the checkout lady," I'm doing great because there's a God who loves and cares for me."? Or respond with joy and enthusiasm? Start God-based conversations? Give your life for the glory, and excellency of Him who created, and called you? He's willing to write your story. Are you?
What we don't realize is most the people who shaped history, who live extraordinary live for Him, were ordinary people. Like you and me. Shepherds, fishermen, poor, from bad families, and the list goes on. They stepped forward in faith, gave all they could, for all that He could give.
"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." -Gal. 2:20
