L-O-V-E.
Just some quick thoughts. Not long contemplated. Not studied. In my head and out again.
What is love? What makes it last? In an age and culture as ours, I feel that people don't even have a good definition of love, what it should look like, or most of all where to look for it. John writes "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Love is supposed to mean something. And we're supposed to have it. At all times. So ALL people will know we are His, pointing to Him, so that they can know Him. Something that they desire. Something that they need. A love not based on "feelings", but is unconditional, without fail. You don't have to feel like loving someone.
b : a person's adoration of God"

Love is also: "patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." (1 Cor. 13) If you hung around my youth group long enough you could probably quote a good definition of love, but might even do it without thinking about the words. So, I chose to bring up good 'ol Webster and a definition of his.
Love: "a : unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another: as (1) : the fatherly concern of God for humankind(2) : brotherly concern for othersb : a person's adoration of God"
The word that should stick out, I would think, is unselfish. Love is never about you, but always about others. Giving, helping, caring....How are you going to show love today? There's no excuse. You have God's strength, to show His love.
If more people in this world really loved, this world would be greatly changed. Less divorces, broken friendships, and need, to name a few.
Strive for more of God and less of you, always.
Happy Valentines Day y'all!!! Have a good one!
Live in love.
