FREE.
Freedom. When you have the heat on high AND have the sun roof completely open on a June night. Music turned up to some great song giving Him glory. When you have driven a few blocks and have no idea whether you've gone too far or not enough because you were so overtaken by delight, smiles, and, well, freedom to pay attention to where exactly you were driving. Freedom in Christ is a beautiful thing. Take a look at good 'ol Webster's words for a closer look at freedom: "[T]he quality or state of being free: as
b : liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another : independence
c : the quality or state of being exempt or released usually from something onerous( involving, imposing, or constituting a burden : troublesome)
I can't describe exactly just how much I appreciate my freedom. Freedom to live as a daughter of the King. Freedom to have faith. Faith that says You've lead me this far, I know You won't leave me stranded. Faith that knows God will provide --like leaving on a trip in two weeks, not knowing where the money is exactly coming from. Faith that gives us the freedom to be the hands God uses to bless. How He loves to use us! And delights in doing so. I have freedom, and I'm going let it refresh me as I bask in my creator's greatness, grandeur, consuming love, and joy. Even if I have no idea where I'm going. Freedom in Christ is freely granted to all who accept.
Freedom gives you the wings so that you can fly, freedom means that Someone gave Their life for yours. Freedom isn't timid. Freedom goes all out.
I have been set free. Free in deed.
“If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free...So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." -John 8:31b-32,36So, go and use your freedom to "proclaim release to the captives", and "to set free those who are oppressed"(Luke 4:18)! You have been freed from, but what have you been freed to? Well, let me just show you:
"and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness." -Romans 6:18
"For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may win more." -1 Corinthians 9:19
" Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God." -1 Peter 2:16
I don't know about you, but that sounds like the best kind of slave around! And you only have the freedom to be that slave because you have already been granted your freedom. Go and live in it!
This is also a great song that just about says it all:
