Alaska Bound: Round two!
Hello friends! I came to a realization the other day. I leave for Alaska in two weeks, which is not that far away. I am stoked to go back for round two! My creator has once again directed my steps- or shoved me in the right direction. He is good, and I'm excited to see what He has in store. I plan to be gone for about two months. It'll be grand to see some familiar faces, and maybe have a little better grasp on what to expect. That doesn't necessarily mean that I'm prepared, by any means. I still don't have a teaching schedule, and should prepare a few devotionals and such between now and then. :) Not to mention finish this term out at school, get my house in order, and head out two days after my last final. Phew.
What I'll be doing this summer will be fairly similar to what I was doing last summer. I'll be coming back on as CEF of Alaska's summer intern/missionary, and once again have a pretty packed schedule. I don't know all the specifics yet, but I do know I will be staffing at a CYIA training camp, camp counseling, likely put on a travelling team, and doing ministry in Villages. I leave here on the 12th of June, get there on the 13th, and my first camp starts on the 16th. I'll tentatively be coming back in mid-late August.
I am so thankful for each and everyone of you. Your friendship and prayers mean so much. If you would like to continue to receive my updates this summer, please let me know!
Here are just a few things that I would appreciate prayer for:
Here are just a few things that I would appreciate prayer for:
- Health. This one sticks out the most, probably because it was the most frustrating thing last summer. God taught me a lot through it, but I also think it would be great to go without the sore throats, ear infections, sprained ankles, etc.
- Joy/energy. So, I love what I do, but I after camp #6, you're a little tired out. I definitely survive on a little bit of coffee and a whole lot of Jesus.
- Love. Specifically, love for those around me. It's easy to go through the motions, especially after you've done essentially the same thing week after week. I want to genuinely love everybody I'm around. So that they can see Jesus in me.
- Creativity. Boy howdy, could I use lots of that!
- Time with Jesus.
Blessings! -hannaH Swan
