Battle: Jesus is Greater
Nobody likes to talk about this stuff. Nobody likes to think that there is battle going on around. Sometimes we shouldn't give the enemy more of a foothold than he needs, but sometimes it does need to be talked about. Jesus is greater. That's what needs to be heard. This summer, I took part in setting world changers free, I took part in a spiritual battle, not that I never have before- we are told to daily put on the armor because daily the battle rages, but this battle for me was more real than ever before. I could feel it, I could see it. But folks, Jesus is greater. No matter what, no matter where, no matter who. In some ways it's exciting; to take part in battle. When you know who has the victory- and you're on the winning team. It's exciting because when the enemy puts up a fuss, it's because he doesn't want freedom to come, the captives set free, the Light to prevail, to relinquish his hold. That's what was taking place.
I want to speak truth to you tonight, because it's what I had to cling to, that and lots and lots of prayer. One day of battle, this verse was claimed for the day: "You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance." That's what God says over us. That He is our hiding place, He protects us, and He will sing songs of deliverance over us. My question to you is, are you at a place where God is your hiding place? If He's not, I don't want you to go another day longer without Him being that for you. There is complete peace to be found in that verse, in Jesus. You also need to know that at the name of Jesus darkness has to flee. Where there is Light, darkness cannot be.
I think we have put our fellow brothers, sisters, and countrymen in a great ill fortune. We have dismissed the reality of the spiritual realm. I think that is the greatest weapon the enemy has used against us. If he can get us comfortable and have us not think about the war that is raging, we won't fight. Have you ever wondered why in other countries the presence of evil is so prevalent? Yet here it is seldom thought about? And when it suddenly becomes evident, most don't know how to pick up their weapons and fight, but too often cower in fear. They simply didn't know they were on the front lines. I can't say that I haven't been fearful, but when the Almighty God is on our side, we need not be afraid. The enemy is already defeated. We just must be ready to defend, but He ultimately is our defender. And deliverer. And hiding place. And protector. One of "my girls" asked me recently why it was that since she started taking Jesus more seriously there are many more bad days. I had to tell her that unfortunately she's not the only one in that position. How I would have liked not to tell her that the enemy is out to steal, kill, and destroy- her life. To take the life in her, to steal her joy, to kill the passion that she might have. To make it harder to follow, or want to follow Jesus. But that's the truth. She must know. It's imperative that she know. But Jesus came so that we could have life, and have it abundantly. I told her to look up Mark 8:37. Again, speaking truth. Truth she must know. We are more than conquerors through Jesus. In all things, He gives us victory. And we can cling to that. Friend, the days are going to be rough, especially when you think it's going to go well. When you start looking for healing, freedom, or seeking it out for others, there will be opposition. Maybe subtle, hidden acts. Sometimes not so subtle. God himself called satan the most crafty- deceptive or clever. And don't you think he doesn't know that. However, we get to proclaim the name of Jesus. And don't doubt the power in that. In Him, all is defeated. We send the enemy running, and us running into His arms. Free. Conquerors. Powerful. Courageous. Filled with peace.
Nonetheless, that does not stop our responsibility to be a part of the the war between Light and darkness, good and evil, the spiritual forces going on around us. We MUST pick up our weapons. We must pray, be reading and claiming God's word, and doing it is His strength, not our own. Daily. But if we are doing that, God has already won the battle for us. We must be rooted and grounded, and then work upwards and outwards from there.
To God be the glory!
