That Christmas Post.

Surprise! It's Christmas eve. I still have baking and Christmas present making to do, not including wrapping. Yep, that's me for ya. However I still wanted to write a Christmas post. Because I LOVE Christmas and I love Christmas, and it only comes once a year, and because I love Jesus, which means I love expressing my love for Christmas! So, here's as Christmassy as you'll get:
Maybe I'm just a girl, but I often think of Mary's perspective when it comes to the Christmas story. To give birth to the Son of God, to hold the Great I AM in your arms, to raise the Prince of Peace as your own. Mary Did You Know is my favorite 'Christian' Christmas song. Slowly read the the words, letting them soak in, pondering the magnitude of them. They're real good, real deep.

"Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when you kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God.

The blind will see, the deaf will hear and the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb.

Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding is the great I am."

This song speaks of great power. It states so perfectly who this little Jesus boy would be, who He is. He was, and is, and is to come. Does anybody else find it out of this world that the Lord of all Creation would humble himself so? That He would forsake His heavenly throne to come to us, to give us hope, joy, peace and the fulfillment of all things wonderful. Making himself the most perfect gift. Ever given. So that He could make Himself known to us, to share in our griefs, to walk life with us, to feel great despair, to give us life, to give us the definition of love. This, this is what Christmas is about.
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." -Romans 15:13
I wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
