Home.
No matter if you've been gone a month or a week, going home feels good. There's just something different, something special about it. Your heart wells up. It's where you belong, it's where you're welcome, it's where you are loved, surrounded by the ones you love. It's comforting, just plain great. It all really starts with the drive home. You know where you are headed, and you get to the point where you know where you are going without hardly spending any effort thinking about directions. Things look familiar, they bring a smile to your face. There is always the thought of sleeping in your own bed, but that is kinda an after thought, sometimes...So, you know that happy, homey feeling you get when thinking about going home? How much better will it feel when we are headed to our heavenly home? Ah. I can't wait-for just that feeling alone! I can't even imagine the rest.
Think about this. Jesus, God Almighty, gave you that feeling and took upon Himself the worst feeling of all. He died on the cross, and he got no loving, comforting, welcome home at that time. He took the weight of world upon His shoulders so that you could be welcomed in by grace, freedom, faith. "Will you trust Jesus or will you reject His love? Will you repent of sin? Or will you proceed in vain self-righteousness? Will you be set free or will you live in the bondage of evil? Will you receive grace or will you face justice?
What will you do?" He now stands waiting to welcome you home with open arms. How great will that homecoming be?! Welcome Home.
