All things Beautiful.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't like it. Because unless the Beholder is my faithful, pure, loving, strong, helping, protective Creator, so much beauty is missed. Not seen. Or given the wrong definition. Have you thought about the idea that God is beauty? That just as He is love, He is beautiful. He creates, restores, redeems, cherishes, plans, and all is beauty. I love that He is so diverse. I've been to Alaska which is ruggedly, gloriously beautiful. I have been to Arizona which is desolately, strangely beautiful. I am home, and home is beautiful. With flowing farms, and marvelous sunsets, forested hills surrounding this lovely valley. It is beautiful. God, You're beautiful. You make my heart smile, make me take a deep breath, bubble over with excitement, smell the flowers, kiss my cat, lay here and just think about it all. Take it all in. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! Life is beautiful.

Today I am taking delight and pleasure in today. Yes, yes I did just pick flowers in the rain, and yes, my neighbor rolled down the window so he could wave as he drove by, and yes, I might just light a pumpkin pie candle, and yes, I'll be sipping some apple cider, and yes, I'm going to spend some time in the Word, and yes, I might just stay in my sweats and slippers all day. Yes, life is beautiful guys. We just have to let-or make- ourselves see it. I want to know Him better who makes all things beautiful.

Everyday can be beautiful. How splendid would that be?

Everything tells of His beauty. Everything.

“Never lose an opportunity for seeing anything that is beautiful;
For beauty is God’s handwriting — a wayside sacrament.
Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every fair flower,
And thank God for it as a cup of His blessing.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Beauty is God's handwriting, and you are His masterpiece. He created you in His image. Do you know that, Dear One? God loves you, created you, and He is perfect. Which means He doesn't make any mistakes. None.

And "beauty is not something you put on. It is not something tight-fitting. It is in the heart." Writing about beauty is tough. Because when it comes to beauty, I would say there generally isn't a very good definition. It's usually in what the eye sees, not in writing or words. However, there is always this striving after it, even if we don't really know what it is. We believe what people tell us, and go for that. It struck me that every girl who has lived, has had this desire to be beautiful, and almost all girls at some point have struggled with the idea that they are not beautiful. It clicked when I heard it was an attack from Satan. It all then makes sense! How dare he! God created us beautiful. To reflect Him, and if satan can strip us of that, he can make us believe other things too. "You are passionately loved by the God of the universe, and you are passionately hated by His enemy." "Bride=beauty. If he can tear that from us, He can try to make us believe we are not acceptable to be the Bride."

And it's days like today, and yesterday, and tomorrow, that I remember that I was made to praise Him.

Joyously beautiful,
-hannaH
