Intentionally Consisitent

Today I have a challenge. For you.
This season of life has been an incredible blessing. I never realized how healthy it would be to be completely removed from your normal life for a focused period of time. Yes, I've always liked getting away from normal life, retreats, freed from distractions, let go of stresses and certain responsibilities. But to know that a certain portion of your time only lasts so long and you really are removed from everything normal about life, different home, space, town, state, people, roommates, schedule, activities(or lack of), it makes you consider what is important in the moment, what you are doing with your time, and the things that could be integrated so easily. It gives focus.

I want to be intentional and consistent, and intentionally consistent. Through all this, Jesus has been showing me that really is His heart too. He is intentional with us. He is consistent. He never changes, never lets go, never gives up. Like the ocean waves that I live approximately a mile from, like the sunrise that dawns each day, He keeps showing up in our lives, often just because He can.

Through these six months, I've decided to change some habits, create new ones, and just do some things, just because I can. I want good focus in my life. And my hope is that some of these things stick with me for the rest of my life, but how easy is it to say I'm going to do _______ for the next six months? And it's been super cool to have the time to do it, a new schedule to easily integrate them into, and I guess it's winter in Alaska. I don't really have an excuse, because other than homework and classes what else am I to do?

If you really want to do something, you, well, kinda have to do it. And so I've purposed to do something. Will I be successful? Not all the time. My challenge for you is to be consistent. Be intentional. Use this season, whatever season that might be, and do something with it. I pray that you're able to have a time in your life where you're able to have focus. Focus towards goals, dreams, character, being intentional with people, your time, your value, your life.

A few things I want to do in the next six months:
- Learn all I can from my studies, even if I take twice as long as everyone else
- Make my bed everyday
- Write everyday in one way or another
- Not use a microwave-- I've heard it's healthy, but I that's not really why I've chosen to do it
- Spend at least 5 minutes stretching everyday
-Spend time to hear from Jesus every MORNING, which means I also have to get up earlier
