Grace and Promise

I feel like my life is unraveling
Rather a good undoing
Knots, twisted, stuck, untied
A freeing, a healing
It was here all along
But for every action, a reaction
And I needed the momentum
A getting away so I could see

Oh the ball that I had been
Waiting to fall
Together or apart
I didn't realize when He asked
Do you want to be healed
That He was looking at me
How much effort I'm willing to extend
Is where it all depends

Reward and consequence
Seek Me first He cries
What if all those days I felt the tears
He did too, holding our fears
He catches them all
Because He catches not mine but His

In Your light we see light
You give us sight
Like an eye without a lense
You knew our plight
Willing to put up a fight
Not against those with skin
Our own kin
Through You we find our power
We'll speak words over each other
Whisper prayers across the world
Names to be written on arms
We'll know no harm

Extended grace and promise I'll believe
A blessing I will receive
