Anticipation
Guys. I couldn't even wait for this year to begin. Not because of any great plans or exciting events. Just pure anticipation. A starting over. An overwhelming feeling of bursting at the seems, so loved and so ready for all that God has up His sleeve.
The word for 2018 didn't hit the depths until the very end and smack dab in the midst of the fading and the dawning of a new year. It's crazy how well in coincides with this year's word. If you remember(which you probably don't), my word for this last year was FOUND . It has now hit home. A few weeks back while worshiping in my living room I felt Him whisper, "I'm not holding anything back from you...Come into my presence and let me be found." He doesn't hold anything back. He wants me to pour out my heart. And find Him in the process. Today, I was reading through 2 Chronicles- I'll keep saying it, do yourself a favor and read the old testament- and stumbled upon a verse in chapter 15 that reads, ...The Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you...." We could move into a discussion about how God is now always with us and we have the same fire that came down upon the temple when it was constructed, but we won't, just please ponder how crazy that is. However, somehow God is still waiting for us, not withholding. He's waiting for us to find Him as we wholeheartedly pour ourselves out and be found in Him as well. Later in that same old testament chapter, it again says, "They sought God eagerly, and He was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side." I'm hungry for Him.
Here I am. Ready to start over. Ready to consider, what if I was given a fresh start in life, what would I get rid of? Let go? 2019 is an overhaul, how do I want to be rebuilt. I'm not talking about adding anything in. I'm talking about running forward and letting all that doesn't matter get left in the dust. I'm not talking about resolutions, I'm talking about resolving to anticipate all the preposterous, ridiculous, incredible, beautiful ways that God is waiting to be found, in anticipation, every calendar day of the year. I'll be telling Jesus every day upon waking up and wiping my blurred vision away as the fresh air sneaks in under the covers, " I want to anticipate and look forward to what you have for me today." It starts with seeking Him eagerly.
I can't begin to express my gratitude to so many of you, for all that is going to happen this year as well...I am so loved, I can't find the words. As some of you may know, I have an incredible friend who gave me the gift of a life time. As of January 1st, one person is praying for me every day of the year. I don't even know what to do with that. I can't imagine to even begin to anticipate all that will happen through a year of mighty prayers. Which just makes the anticipation build. Expectation and hope filled. This is my year. I'm stoked for what will come. He bestows, He is found in all our days.
I've shared it before in this post, that we don't become who we want to be by accident. I keep pressing in. Will you join in with me this year? Lean into the year of ANTICIPATION with me?
