Superpower.
It's true, I love random questions. More so asking them, than actually answering them. I never have quite the imagination to think out side the box. I'm a realist, most the time. So why do I love random questions? I dunno. It's contradictory, really. Anyway...I've taught my mom well. She knows this fact about me. Thinks it's something I'm good at. I don't know why. It's probably more of a down-fall. So, every once in a while she joins in. We get talking and somehow it come to "If you could have any superpower, what would it be?" After throwing things out like flying, being able to eat as much/whatever you wanted and not be affected by the calories(wouldn't that be great!!? Must be something like that in heaven...), it came to the gift of healing, we weren't sure if this classified as a superpower or not, but we thought it would be pretty grand. But then I said something I almost regretted-which is fairly typical-"If you had the gift of healing it would be really hard to keep it to yourself. If you knew you could heal anybody, you would constantly want to be out there doing so. ""Here, can I heal you? Can I heal you?"" " I almost regretted say this, not because it was wrong or mean, but it made me think, almost a little guilty. If we had the gift of healing. The thing is, we do. Because He who is in us daily sets the captive free, heals the brokenhearted, souls, and all their diseases. And yet we keep it to ourselves. We have the Gift of Healing, and we do nothing. It is sad that we hold the True Cure, we have Everything a person needs, and we are usually not at all anxious to give it to them. Their life depends on it.
"And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed."
--1 Peter 2:24
And He has given us power. "For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline." --2 Timothy 1:7
Wow, that is so true! Don't you love making yourself think? :-) Let's get out there with the awesome power we're blessed to have!
