Adopted!

I had an "Aha!" moment today. Isn't it just marvelously wonderful when God just makes sense of things? Amidst a group of ladies today, we were talking about foster care and adoption. The difference between, and really, how great they are. It struck me how far beyond foster care adoption goes, though. They sign the papers. These parents are invested in these children. Yes, it may be a lot of struggle, and heart ache. It's going to be tough, but it's so worth it. When a child is in foster care, there can be lots of insecurity hanging over their head: "You make one wrong move, and you're out of here."
 Adoption is nothing like that.
Adoption says no matter what you do, I want you. I accept you. I love you. You are home. To stay.
Doesn't THAT paint the perfect picture of God?! I have always heard that God adopted us into his family, that yes, we are the children of God, but to the fullest meaning, I NEVER REALLY GOT IT. We are adopted.
We are adopted!
God has taken us, He has signed the papers, He has invested in us. In His eyes we are worth it. No matter what you do, He still wants you.
"Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved." -Ephesians 1:4-6

Side note: No, I am not saying never do foster care, and to those who are doing it, you are a blessing. I heard a sad statistic today about the number of girls that have gone through foster care, and get sex trafficked. KEEP DOING WHAT GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO. God just amazed me with what He has done for us.
