Let it Go(Stupid Monkey)
If I haven't already restated and restated this fact-most things make sense when I can visualize them. This week I was listening to an audio book and they were talking about how they catch monkeys in some far away land. They cut a hole in the coconut, drop a rock/pebble in, and wait for a monkey to come along. A monkey filled with stupidity and greed. He hears the rock, reaches in, takes hold of it, and filled with curiosity, he doesn't let go. He holds on, and entraps himself.
2 days later...I realized that monkey isn't very different from us. We have our own stupidity. We grasp so tight to what we want and desire. Whether it be a sinful life, money, a nice home, being liked, the American dream, and we entrap ourselves. By our stupidity and greed we are trapped by the world. Ensnared. How can we be useful like that? We can't be fooled by the world. We've got to let it go. Let go of everything that keeps you from Him. Have you been told you're not good enough? Does money keep you from trusting? Does comfort keep you from serving? What are you doing that requires faith? Think about it.
Oh, and after reading this, you've got to listen to this. I'm tellin' ya.
